About Liam Alex
Liam Alex Heffron is an award winning Inventor, Actor and Historian. Known for his TV roles in 'Fair City', 'Hardy Bucks', 'Ros na Rún' and current affairs programmes including RTE's, 'The Battle for Rural Ireland', the 'Claire Byrne Show" and 'Averity TV' - WebTV interview series. He was executive producer of the 2015 award winning short film 'Top of the Rock', which he co-starred in. Liam Alex trained in Los Angeles with the Howard Fine Acting Studio, Margie Haber Studios and Crystal Carson and in Ireland at Galway Theatre Company and the Irish Film Academy.
As an award winning entrepreneur and patent-holder he founded several companies involved in electronic security, while studying drama and video production in Galway. He became a regular stage actor and director on the Galway circuit, writing & producing two stage plays; the 'The Tinker's Blade', and '1798 - The Year of the French'. He made his screen debut in the film 'The Summer of the Flying Saucer' with Robbie Sheehan ('Love / Hate'), and has gone on to star in 'The Cutting Room' and 'Breaking Hollywood' with David Harewood (Homeland), due out in 2017. Liam Alex is also a TV presenter and comedian, with some of his political satire resulting in threats from republican extremists and necessitated police protection.
He graduated in 2016 with a First Class (Hon) Masters Degree in History from the National University of Ireland, Galway and is currently turning his MA thesis into published books. He is also a board member of the Irish Industry Advisory Group for the Creative Momentum Project - MyCreativeEdge.eu - the creative showcase for Europe's Northern Edge.
